What height should the TV be mounted at?
The centre of the screen should sit at roughly eye level when you are seated, which is lower than most people expect. Mounting above a fireplace looks impressive and is uncomfortable to watch. We check sight lines from where you actually sit before drilling.
Will the cables be visible?
No. We run them inside the wall where the construction allows, or in colour-matched trunking where it does not. Loose cables hanging down the wall are the main thing that makes an install look amateur.
Can you mount on a drywall or a timber-framed wall?
Yes, but the bracket must be fixed to the structure behind, not just the board. We locate the studs or noggins and fix into those. On brick and concrete we use the correct expansion anchors for the weight of your screen.
Do you supply the bracket?
We can. We carry fixed, tilting and full-motion brackets for screens from small to very large. If you already have one, we will check it is rated for your TV before using it.
Can you do the TV mount and the DStv install in one visit?
Yes, and it usually works out cheaper than two separate callouts. Mention both when you book on 079 754 5527 and we will quote the combined job.
Is wall mounting a good idea in a coastal house?
Yes, and it also keeps the TV and cabling off the floor and away from damp. We use fixings suited to coastal conditions so the bracket does not corrode behind the screen.
